Palm branch

A palm branch is a long leafy stick from a tree called a palm tree. It has lots of thin leaves that grow out from the stem and make it look like a giant feather. People sometimes cut these branches off the palm tree and use them for decorations or special ceremonies. One example is when people use them to celebrate a holiday called Palm Sunday. On this day, many Christians carry palm branches to remember Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey and people welcoming him by waving palm branches. So a palm branch is basically a long leafy stick from a special tree that people use to celebrate important events or holidays.
