So imagine you have a bunch of letters that you use to make words. These letters are like building blocks to create the things you want to say, like "cat" or "dog" or "banana."
But there are different languages in the world, and sometimes they use different building blocks. For example, in English we have 26 letters but in Japanese they have over 2,000 characters!
Now, in Nigeria there are over 500 different languages spoken! That's a lot of building blocks! So people have been working on something called a pan-Nigerian alphabet.
This is like a special set of letters that can be used in all the different languages in Nigeria. It helps people be able to read and write in their own language, and also understand other Nigerian languages better.
It's kind of like if you went to a new school and had to learn a new set of building blocks, but then someone gave you a special set of building blocks that worked at every school. It would make things a lot easier, right?
That's basically what the pan-Nigerian alphabet is doing - making it easier for people to communicate with each other and express themselves in their language.
