A paper machine is a big machine that takes things called wood pulp and turns them into paper. It's kind of like a really big robot that works really hard!
First, wood pulp gets mixed with water to make a gooey mixture called pulp. This pulp is poured onto a big flat screen made of metal wires, like a giant strainer. Then, the screen moves along and water is sucked out of the pulp with a special vacuum.
Next, the paper goes through some big rollers that press and dry it. These rollers are really hot, sort of like a toaster! Once the paper is dry, it gets rolled up onto a big spool.
Finally, the paper gets cut into the sizes that people need, like for notebooks, newspapers, and magazines. And that's how a paper machine works!
