Paradox of a charge in a gravitational field

A paradox of a charge in a gravitational field is that a negative charge should move in the direction of the gravitational force (downward) but it actually moves in the opposite direction (upward). This happens because the gravitational force and the electrical force both act on the charge at the same time. Even though the gravitational force is pushing the charge in one direction, the electrical force is also pushing it in another direction. In this case, the electrical force is stronger than gravity so it overpowers it and makes the charge move in the opposite direction.
