Parallel Redundancy Protocol

Parallel redundancy protocol (PRP) is a way of making sure things work correctly when you have more than one part doing the same job. PRP makes sure that if one part doesn't work, the other parts can pick up the slack. Imagine you have a machine with two parts: part A and part B. With PRP, if part A stops working, part B can take over and do the job instead. That way, the machine can keep working and you don't have to worry about it breaking down.
