ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Parataxis (grammar)

Parataxis is a fancy way of saying "putting two things together that don't have a connecting word." For example, if you say "I ate breakfast, I went to the park," that's parataxis. There's no word connecting the two ideas, like "and" or "because," but we still understand that they're related. It's like when you're telling a story and you might skip from one part to another without connecting them with words. Parataxis is a way of using language that's a little more free-flowing and natural.
