Parge coat

Okay kiddo, imagine you want to make a cake. But before you can put frosting on it, you need to make sure the cake is smooth and flat. That's kind of like what a parge coat does for buildings.

A parge coat is a layer of special mixture that is spread over the surface of a building's walls. This mixture usually includes things like cement, sand, and water mixed together.

Why would you do this? Well, buildings can get damaged over time by things like weather, water, or even just normal wear and tear. A parge coat helps protect the surface from damage, just like how frosting protects a cake from getting yucky. Plus, it can make the walls look nicer and more even.

So, just like how a cake needs to be smoothed out with frosting, a building needs to be smoothed out with a parge coat. That way, it stays strong and looking good for a long time.
