ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Partial geometry

Partial geometry is like a puzzle game where you have different pieces that need to fit together in a certain way. Imagine you have a big square and you want to divide it into smaller squares that are all different sizes.

In partial geometry, we try to find the different shapes and sizes of the smaller squares that can fit together perfectly to create the bigger square. We use special rules to help us figure out which pieces will work and which ones won't.

For example, we might say that each smaller square can only touch one or two other squares, and they have to touch in a certain way. This helps us make sure that all the pieces fit together nicely without any gaps or overlaps.

Partial geometry is important because it helps us solve difficult problems in things like computer science and mathematics. By using these rules and puzzles, we can find new solutions to complex problems and learn more about how our world works.
