Okay, so let's imagine that you and your friends really like pink, and you all think that purple is yucky. Now, let's imagine that there are other kids who really like purple, and they think pink is gross. We call these groups of friends who have different opinions "partisan brigades".
Sometimes, when these partisan brigades talk to each other, they argue and fight because they disagree. They might even call each other mean names, like "stinky pinkies" and "gross purplies". This isn't very nice, and it doesn't really help anyone understand why they have different opinions.
However, if everyone tries to listen to each other and understand why they like different things, then they might learn something new and become better friends. Maybe pink and purple can even be friends too!
