Paryaya

Paryaya is like a game of sharing toys with your friends. In the game, one person gets to be the owner of all the toys for a certain amount of time, and then they give the toys to another person to be the owner for the same amount of time. This is called the paryaya system in a city called Udupi in India. In this game, the toys are like the responsibilities of running a temple. Different leaders in the temple take turns being in charge of the temple and taking care of the important tasks. This way, everyone gets a chance to be a leader and share in the responsibility of taking care of the temple. It's like taking turns being the captain of a ship!
