ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Paschal Triduum

Okay kiddo, listen up. The Paschal Triduum is a special time for our Catholic faith. It's actually three days rolled into one big celebration! Here's what happens on each day:

On Holy Thursday, we remember when Jesus gave us the gift of the Holy Eucharist and washed the feet of his disciples. We go to Mass and take part in the Last Supper, just like Jesus did with his friends.

On Good Friday, we remember when Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins. We go to church and pray the Stations of the Cross, which helps us remember the different parts of Jesus' journey to the cross. We also go to the Veneration of the Cross, where we show our love and respect for Jesus' sacrifice.

On Holy Saturday, we remember when Jesus' body was in the tomb after he died. We wait for the Easter Vigil, which is when the Church celebrates Jesus' resurrection. We light candles and sing songs, and we remember that Jesus conquered death and gave us eternal life.

So you see, the Paschal Triduum is a very special time for us Catholics. We remember all the important things that Jesus did for us, and we celebrate his love and sacrifice.
