ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pasma

Pasma is when a lot of salty sweat is produced from our body and we lose too much salt during physical activities like running, sports or playing outside in the hot sun. When we lose too much salt, it can cause a lot of different problems in our body like muscle cramps, weakness, dizziness, and sometimes even fainting.

To explain it better, imagine you are playing outside in the sun for a long time and you start sweating a lot. That sweat contains salt and water that helps our body to cool down. But if we continue to lose salt in our body without replacing it, it can cause problems and make us feel very sick. This is why it's important to drink water and sports drinks that contain salt before, during and after physical activities to keep our body healthy and hydrated.

So, Pasma is just a fancy way of saying that we should take care of ourselves when we play outside, especially in the hot sun, by drinking lots of fluids to keep ourselves healthy and protected from losing too much salt from our body.
