ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Passenger drone

A passenger drone is like a small flying car that can carry people from one place to another without needing a driver. It is called a drone because it has no pilot inside, and is controlled by a computer system that is programmed to take people to their destination safely.

When you get in, you sit in a comfortable seat and put on a seatbelt, just like in a regular car. But instead of driving on the ground, the passenger drone takes off into the air, like a helicopter or an airplane. It uses rotors or jet engines to lift off the ground, and then flies through the air to get you to where you want to go.

The drone is controlled from a remote location by a pilot or computer system, using advanced technology that allows it to fly safely and avoid other things in the air. It can go faster and further than a regular car, because it doesn't have to deal with traffic on the ground.

Passenger drones are still a relatively new technology, and there are still some challenges to overcome before they become widely available. But many experts believe that they could be an important part of the transportation system of the future, allowing people to travel quickly and efficiently without adding to traffic congestion or pollution on the ground.
