ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Passport

Passport is a special book or document that helps you travel from one country to another. It has your very important information in it, such as your name, date of birth, where you are from, and a little picture of you so people can make sure that it's really you.

Just like how you would need permission from your parents to go somewhere, you need permission from your government to go to another country. Your passport is like permission slip from your government that allows you to leave your country, and it also tells other countries that you are a citizen of your country.

Without a passport, you can't travel to a different country. It’s like going to your friend’s house and you can't enter it without knocking on the door and asking permission. You can knock on the door but without a passport, you won't be allowed to enter another country.

When you travel abroad, it's important to keep your passport with you at all times, because if you lose it, you may not be allowed to travel back to your own country.

So always keep your passport safe and secure, it's your ticket to exploring the world!
