This is because French is one of the main languages spoken in Quebec.
One day, a restaurant in Montreal called Buonanotte got in trouble because they had too many Italian words on their menu. The people who enforce the French language laws in Quebec didn't like this because they thought the Italian words were taking away from the French language.
