Pathogenomics

Pathogenomics is a type of science that looks at how germs, or 'pathogens', cause disease. Scientists in this field use different kinds of technology, like DNA testing, to study how a pathogen affects the body, and how we can stop it from causing illness. By understanding a pathogen's genetic makeup, scientists can find ways to fight it, like creating a vaccine or finding new medicines.
