Paul Ricoeur

Paul Ricoeur was a French philosopher who lived from 1913 to 2005. He believed that understanding something means looking at it from many different perspectives. He studied literature, religion, history, psychology, and philosophy. He especially focused on how stories explain life and how symbols from stories and myths could help people understand themselves and the world. He wanted to help people be able to make sense of their lives, and think about the world in a different way.
