Pax Britannica

Pax Britannica was the period of peace and stability created in the world by the British Empire. It lasted from around the early 1800s to the early 1900s. The British Empire was one of the biggest empires in history and its navy was used to protect the British colonies, ensuring that they would be safe from attack. This made it possible for trade to happen easily between countries in the empire and other countries. This helped foster economic growth and stability in the British colonies and even beyond them. Pax Britannica also made sure that people in the colonies followed the laws of the Empire, while giving them the autonomy to make their own decisions without interference.
