ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pay what you can

Alright kiddo, imagine that you went to a store to buy a toy, but did not have enough money to pay for it. Now, imagine if the storekeeper said, "It's okay, you can pay whatever you can afford for the toy and take it home with you." This is called "pay what you can."

It means that instead of there being a fixed price for something (like the toy), the person selling it lets you decide how much you can afford to pay for it. This can happen at restaurants, stores, and even events like concerts or festivals.

This way, people who might not have a lot of money can still enjoy things like food, clothes, or entertainment without having to worry about not being able to afford it.

Of course, it is important to remember to be honest and pay what you truly can afford, so that the person selling the item can continue doing what they do to make a living.
