They help make sure that the people who made the music get paid when their music is played or performed in public, like on the radio or at a concert or in a movie or TV show. Kinda like how you get paid for doing chores around the house!
The PROs keep track of all the times that music is played or performed in public, and they collect money from places like radio stations, concert venues, and TV channels. They take that money and give it back to the people who made the music, so they can keep making more great songs.
