Performative activism

Performative activism is when people do something as a way to show their support for an important cause or issue without actually doing anything to directly help the cause. For example, if someone wants to help save the environment, they might post pictures of themselves holding placards saying "Save the Planet" or do other "activist-like" things to show their support, but not actually get involved in actions that would actually help the environment.
