Persecution of Sikhs

Persecution of Sikhs is when people treat Sikhs unfairly or badly because of they wear certain clothes, have beards, and turbans, and follow a different religion than the majority. Sikhs are often discriminated against, harassed, or even attacked because of their religious beliefs and physical appearance.

Imagine you like to wear a different color of shoes than everyone else. You might get picked on, or made fun of by your classmates or friends. This is what happens to Sikhs but on a much bigger scale. Because they look different, some people are mean to them, and it makes them feel sad, and afraid.

For Sikhs, their religious beliefs are also a cause of persecution. People who do not understand the Sikh faith or other religions might be fearful of what they do not know about them. This fear often leads to negative attitudes towards Sikhs or even violence against them.

It's important to remember that Sikhs are humans and should be treated with respect, just like everyone else, no matter what they might believe or look like. We should all try to learn more about different cultures and religions so that we can understand and accept differences, rather than attacking or discriminating against others because of them.
