ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Persecutory delusion

Persecutory delusion means that someone believes that other people, maybe even everyone, are out to get them or harm them in some way. It's like someone thinking that everyone is a bad guy who wants to hurt them. But, in reality, these thoughts and beliefs are not true, and no one is actually trying to hurt the person with the delusion.

For example, imagine if you thought that your neighbor was always spying on you or trying to hurt you. You might feel very scared and not want to leave your house or talk to anyone. But, it's important to remember that these thoughts are not based on reality, and it's important to seek help from a doctor or therapist who can assist in identifying the problem and solving it.
