Peruvian cuisine

Peruvian cuisine is the kind of food that people really love to eat in Peru, which is a country in South America. It is really yummy and special because it combines foods from different cultures, like Spanish, Inca, African and Chinese.

Peruvian food is also popular because it uses unique ingredients that are grown in the region, such as potatoes and corn. There are over 4,000 different types of potatoes in Peru! That’s a whole lot of potatoes!

One of the most popular dishes in Peru is called ceviche. It is made with raw fish that is marinated in lime juice and mixed with onions, hot peppers, sweet potato and corn. Ceviche is really tasty and refreshing on a hot day.

Another yummy dish you might find in Peruvian cuisine is called lomo saltado. It is a stir-fry dish made with beef strips, onions, tomatoes, and french fries (yes, you read that right, french fries!). It is usually served with rice and is super filling.

Finally, Peruvian cuisine has a lot of yummy desserts too, like churros filled with dulce de leche (a sweet milk-based sauce) and creamy rice pudding called arroz con leche.
