Petroleum exploration in the Arctic

Petroleum exploration in the Arctic is like a big treasure hunt. Inside of the Arctic Ocean, which is the coldest part of the world, are hidden maps that point to where we might find oil and natural gas. Companies like Shell Oil look for these maps to help them locate and drill for oil and gas that can be used for energy. They use ships, submarines, and drones (flying robots) to search for clues that help them find these maps. If they are successful, they build large pipelines to transport the oil and gas to refineries, where it can be turned into energy for homes, cars and factories.
