ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pharmacy technician

A pharmacy technician is someone who helps pharmacists, who are the people that give you your medicine at the drugstore. The job of a pharmacy technician is to help the pharmacist do their work, to make sure that people have the right medicine and that it's safe for them to take.

Pharmacy technicians have to be very good at paying attention to details. They have to make sure that they count the right number of pills, that the medicine is in the right bottle, and that the label has all the right information on it. They also have to keep track of inventory, which just means they make sure they have enough medicine to give to everyone who needs it.

Pharmacy technicians talk to people on the phone and in person, so they have to be good at communicating. They also have to be able to use a computer, because a lot of their work involves typing in information about the medicine and the person who needs it.

Pharmacy technicians are important because they help people get the medicine they need. Without them, the pharmacist would have to do everything on their own and it would take a lot longer to get your medicine. So, they are like helpers to the pharmacist, making sure everything goes smoothly and people get the medicine they need to feel better.
