The Philippine Independent Church is a church that formed in the Philippines in 1902. It is sometimes called the “Aglipayan Church”. The church split off from the Catholic Church because its members wanted to choose their own leaders instead of having them appointed by the Pope. All Filipino people can join the Philippines Independent Church and it is open to people of all faiths. The Church has churches all over the Philippines and holds weekly services. They believe in the same teachings of the Catholic Church but with more Filipino values and beliefs.
