ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Philosophic burden of proof

Philosophic burden of proof is like a game of tag. In this game, one person (person A) is trying to prove something is true, and the other person (person B) is trying to prove that person A is wrong. Person A has the 'burden of proof' because it is up to them to prove what they are saying is true. It is not up to person B to prove that person A is wrong. Person A has to show that their idea or statement is true.
