ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Philosophy For All

Philosophy is like asking lots of questions! You know when you ask, "why?" a hundred times? That's what philosophers do. They want to know why things are the way they are, and what we should do about it. They think a lot about things that don't have clear-cut answers, like what makes a good person, or how should we treat each other.

Philosophers like to think about the big questions, like "what's the meaning of life?" or "what makes something right or wrong?" They also like to think about things that seem simple, but are actually really tricky, like "is it ever okay to lie?"

Even though philosophy can be tricky sometimes, it's really important because it helps us think carefully about the world around us. We might not always find answers, but asking questions is a great way to learn more about ourselves and the world we live in!
