Phoenix breakwaters

A phoenix breakwater is like a giant wall in the ocean that helps protect areas from waves and storm surges. It's not just any ordinary wall though, it's made with special rocks called dolosse that look like big concrete jacks. These dolosse are interlocking and create a strong barrier that can withstand the force of the waves.

Think about playing with Legos, but on a much larger scale. You stack them up to make a wall, but instead of just stacking them in one direction, you put them together in a special way so they can connect and interlock with each other. This makes the wall super strong and able to withstand rough waves that might try to knock it down.

Phoenix breakwaters are really important because they protect things like ports and beaches from getting damaged during storms. Without these breakwaters, the waves could damage boats, buildings, and other important things that we use near the ocean.
