Photobiology is the study of how light energy affects living things. This includes things like plants, animals, and even humans! Light energy gives us energy, helps us see, and lets plants use sunlight to make their food in a process called photosynthesis. Scientists study how light affects living things, for example how it helps plants grow, how it helps animals find food, and how it can affect us when we get too much sunlight, like sunburns and skin cancer.
