A photovoltaic power plant is like a big field filled with shiny, flat things called solar panels. Imagine them like shiny magic mirrors that catch the sunlight and turn it into electricity - just like how your flashlight needs batteries to work, these panels need sunlight to create energy.
The energy they create goes through special wires to a building called an inverter, where the energy is changed from the type that comes from the panels into the type that can be used by homes, schools, and other buildings.
Then the electricity travels through wires to the places where it is needed, like your house. When the sun is shining, the panels make lots of energy and enough to power many buildings – like if you had lots of batteries, you could power all your toys for hours!
This is called renewable energy because the sun doesn't stop shining and there are no harmful emissions or pollution, like we might get from a car or a factory. Photovoltaic power plants are an exciting way for people to get energy in a clean, safe and healthy way!
