So, when Phrixus was a young boy, there was a drought in his kingdom, and people were starving. To save them, Phrixus' stepmother convinced his dad to sacrifice him to the gods. Luckily, the goddess of clouds sent a magical ram with golden wool to save Phrixus and his sister, Helle.

The ram could fly, and it took the two siblings on its back towards a distant land. During the flight, Helle fell off the ram and died. But Phrixus continued the journey safely and eventually arrived in a land called Colchis.
