Pigeonhole principle

The pigeonhole principle is a simple idea that tells us that if we have more objects than spaces to put them in, some of the spaces will have to have more than one object in it. Let's say you have five pigeons and four boxes. That means that at least one box has to have two pigeons in it. That's the pigeonhole principle in action!
