Pike (weapon)

Okay kiddo, a pike is a long stick with a pointy end that soldiers would use in battle a long time ago. It was made of wood and the tip was usually made of metal. It was used to keep the bad guys away from the soldiers who were holding the pikes because the pointy end was very sharp and could hurt the bad guys if they tried to get too close. The soldiers who were holding the pikes would stand in a line so that the bad guys couldn't get past them. They would stick the pike out towards the bad guys to keep them away. The pike was a very important weapon back then because it could keep the soldiers safe from harm.
