ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pin-compatibility

Pin-compatibility means that two devices (such as computer chips) have the same arrangement of pins on their surface. Think of pins like the legs of a spider - they help the device connect to the other parts of a device or system it's plugged into. When two devices are pin-compatible, it means they can be plugged into the same socket (like a Lego brick), without any need for alterations or adjustments. Just like how all the Lego bricks are made to fit together in a certain way, so too are these devices made to fit together in a certain way. This makes it easier for them to work together and for people to use them without needing specialized knowledge or tools.
