ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pipe support

Imagine you have a long, skinny straw that you need to carry around. If you hold it in your hand, it might bend or break because it's not strong enough to stand up on its own. So, you need something to help you hold it up and keep it straight.

Pipes in a building work in a similar way. They are long, skinny tubes that carry liquids or gases to different parts of the building. But if they're not held up properly, they can bend, break, or even fall down. That's where pipe supports come in.

Pipe supports are like little cradles that hold up the pipes, keeping them straight and properly positioned. They come in many different shapes and sizes, depending on the size and weight of the pipe, and the type of building it's in.

For example, if you have a big, heavy pipe that needs to be held up, you might use a sturdy metal support that bolts to the wall or floor. But if you have a small, lightweight pipe, a simple plastic clip might be enough to hold it in place.

These supports are important for keeping the pipes safe and secure, so they don't leak or cause any damage to the building. Without them, the pipes could move around, leak, or even break, causing big problems and expensive repairs.

So, just like you need a straw holder to keep your straw safe, pipes need support to keep them safe and working properly.
