ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pitch constellation

Imagine looking up at the night sky and seeing thousands of stars. Now, imagine connecting those stars together with imaginary lines to make shapes. That's what a pitch constellation is - it's a shape made out of stars on a musical scale. Just like how stars in the sky have names, the notes in a pitch constellation have names too, like C, D, E, F, G, A, and B.

So, when you hear someone talking about a pitch constellation, they are just talking about the different shapes that the notes make on a musical scale. These shapes are important because they help musicians learn and remember different melodies and scales. It's kind of like having a map of the stars to help you find your way in the night sky.
