Okay, kiddo, imagine you lived a long time ago in a really old place called Scandinavia. It's very cold there and there are no phones or computers like we have now. You and your family go out every day to hunt for food and gather berries and nuts so you can survive.
One day you notice that some people are doing things differently than you and your family. They're making pottery with little marks or pits on them. You're not sure what they're for but you find them really interesting.
These people who make the pottery with pits on them are called the Pitted Ware Culture. They lived a long time ago, before all the fancy technology we have now. They didn't live in big cities like we do, but instead, they lived in small groups scattered around the land.
The Pitted Ware people used the pots they made for many things like cooking food, storing things, and even burying their dead. They had different tools, weapons, and clothing than you, and they even had some sort of spiritual beliefs that we don't fully understand today.
So just like how we have different cultures today, the Pitted Ware people had their own unique culture that helped them survive and thrive in their own way.
