Place names considered unusual

A place name is a name given to a physical location such as a town, city, country, mountain, river or beach. An unusual place name is one that sounds different to normal names and is not often used. Unusual place names can be made up, like Funnytown or Waffleland, or they can be real names that have rare spellings like Schrodinger instead of Schroeder.
