Planck time is the smallest unit of time scientists are able to measure. It is named after German physicist Max Planck. He discovered a basic law of nature called the Planck Constant. The Planck Constant tells us how energy is measured in tiny amounts called quanta. Planck time is the amount of time it takes for the Planck Constant to be used one time. It is extremely short – one Planck Time is equal to 0.000 000 000 000 000 000 001 (that’s one millionth of a millionth of a millionth of a millionth of a second!)
