Plant collecting is like going on a treasure hunt for all sorts of different plants. Just like there are different types of toys, there are different types of plants like flowers, trees and bushes that we can find and collect.
But when we collect plants, we have to be very careful not to hurt them or damage the environment where they live. We have to make sure that we are only collecting plants that are allowed to be collected and that we're not taking too many of the same kind of plant from the same area.
Once we find a plant we want to collect, we might take a picture of it or write down some notes about where we found it and what it looks like. Then we might carefully snip off a small piece of the plant to take with us. We would put this piece in some soil or water to help it keep growing.
Sometimes, plant collectors trade their plants with other collectors to get new and different kinds of plants. But no matter what, we have to make sure we take care of our plants and respect the environment where they came from.
