Plant strategies

Plants have different strategies for surviving and growing. One strategy is to produce lots of seeds, so that even if some of them don't survive, some will still grow. Another strategy is to grow big and strong to be able to reach higher in the air and get more sunlight. Some plants also have special parts, like thorns and sticky sap, to help protect them from animals that might eat them. That way, they can last longer and make more seeds.
