Plasmid

A plasmid is a little circle of DNA, which is different from regular DNA. Plasmids are found inside of cells and can carry extra instructions that tell cells to do things like make medicine or bacteria more resistant to certain things. Plasmids are sort of like having an extra piece of information that can get passed on to other cells when they copy themselves.
