Plastic soul

Plastic soul is when someone pretends to be a different kind of person than they really are. It's like wearing a mask or a costume. Imagine you have a box of toys and you want to play with your friends. You love playing with dolls but your friends think that dolls are for babies. So, you put on a brave face and pretend you like playing with action figures instead. That's a bit like having a plastic soul.

Sometimes people pretend to be something they're not to fit in with a certain group of people, to impress someone they like, or to feel like they belong. For example, let's say you're in a new school and you're trying to make friends. You notice that everyone is wearing a certain brand of clothes, so you go out and buy the same clothes too, even though you don't really like them. That's another example of having a plastic soul.

Having a plastic soul can make people feel like they're not being true to themselves. It's important to remember that it's okay to be different and to like different things. Being yourself is the best way to make real friends and to be happy.
