Platonic realism

Platonic realism is a way of thinking about things that exist. It is called "Platonic" because it is named after the Ancient Greek philosopher Plato, who believed in the idea of Platonic realism. Platonic realism says that there are certain objects or things in the universe that exist outside of our physical world and are more "real" than the things we can touch and see around us. For example, Plato believed that mathematical equations and shapes (like triangles, circles, and squares) were forms that existed outside of our physical universe and were much more real than any physical shape or object. Platonic realism argues that these forms or objects are perfect and unchanging, even when things in the physical world are not.
