Play (theatre)

Play is a special kind of show that people put on in a big room called a theatre. It’s like a really fun story that’s acted out by people called actors or actresses.

Imagine you and your friends playing pretend, but with fancier clothes and on a big stage! The actors say words that are written down in a script, and they move around on the stage to show what’s happening in the story. Sometimes they sing, dance, or even do some magic tricks, to make the story more exciting!

The people who watch the play are called the audience. They sit in special chairs called seats and watch everything that’s happening on the stage. They even clap their hands and laugh or cry when they feel happy or sad, just like how you do when your favorite story is told to you.

One really cool thing about plays is that they can be about anything! Some are about princesses and dragons, some are about cowboys and cowgirls, and some are about people like you and me living their daily lives.

Sometimes plays can be funny, while others can be really serious. But no matter what kind of play it is, it’s always great because it’s something that everyone can enjoy together!
