Plug-in (computing)

Plug-ins are applications that are added to larger programs to give them extra features. Think of it like Legos: you can have a basic Lego car, but if you add extras like wheels and doors, the car becomes more fun and more useful. Plug-ins work the same way- they are added to existing software to make it more useful.
