Okay kiddo, imagine you and your friends want to decide where to go for your next playdate. Some of your friends want to go to the park, while others want to go to the zoo. How do you decide where to go?
Well, you could take a vote and see which place has the most votes. But what if there are still a lot of friends who didn't get to go where they wanted? That's where plural consensus comes in.
Plural consensus means that instead of just going with the place that got the most votes, everyone tries to find a solution that makes everyone at least a little bit happy. That way, even though not everyone gets exactly what they want, everyone gets something they like.
So in our playdate example, maybe you and your friends decide to compromise by going to a park with a petting zoo. That way, the friends who wanted to go to the zoo still get to see animals, and the friends who wanted to go to the park get to run around and play.
That's plural consensus in a nutshell – finding a solution that works for everyone, even if it's not perfect for anyone.
