ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pluralis majestatis

Okay kiddo, so imagine you are a king or queen and you are talking to your people. When you talk about yourself, instead of saying "I" or "me," you say "we" or "our." That's because you are not just one person, you represent your whole kingdom or country. This is what pluralis majestatis means - using a plural pronoun to refer to oneself as a person of high status or authority. It's like saying "we are royalty" instead of "I am royalty."
